Queen Mary University of London (QMUL) is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join Professor Michelangelo Campanella’s research group at the Centre for Clinical Pharmacology, William Harvey Research Institute. About the Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in the endeavors of the Mitochondrial Cell Biology and Pharmacology Research Group, working within a dynamic and interdisciplinary environment. Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting advanced research in mitochondrial cell biology and pharmacology.
- Utilizing state-of-the-art techniques such as live cell imaging, biochemistry, molecular biology, and tissue culture.
- Collaborating with a diverse team of researchers while contributing to the group’s innovation goals.
This full-time fixed-term position is funded for 44 months, offering a salary range of £43,305-£45,622 per annum.
About You
Ideal candidates should possess:
- A PhD in biological or chemical sciences (or equivalent).
- Demonstrable research experience relevant to the project.
- Expertise in laboratory techniques, including live cell imaging, biochemistry, and molecular biology.
- Bioinformatics skills (preferred but not essential).
In addition, you should have:
- Strong organizational and teamwork skills.
- A proactive and positive attitude toward scientific innovation.
- A sound knowledge of health and safety management.
About the Centre for Clinical Pharmacology
The Centre for Clinical Pharmacology, led by Professor Patricia Munroe, is the largest research center within the William Harvey Research Institute. With a vibrant team of 29 academic staff, 46 research, technical, and clinical trials staff, and 28 PhD students, the Centre is at the forefront of basic science and translational research. The primary focus is to advance inflammation, vascular biology, and genetic epidemiology, paving the way for innovative therapeutic approaches.
