About the Role:
AstraZeneca is seeking a Senior Scientist to join its Early Respiratory & Immunology (Early R&I) team in Waltham, MA. This role focuses on advancing treatments for Rheumatological and Gastrointestinal Diseases by exploring immunological pathways and drug targets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead research on immunological pathways for target validation and drug discovery.
- Develop new therapeutic strategies for immune-mediated diseases.
- Collaborate with teams across AstraZeneca’s global sites in the US, UK, and Sweden.
- Design and conduct experiments using cutting-edge tools, including multi-parametric FACS and primary human cell culture.
- Analyze data, prepare reports, and publish findings.
- Work in AstraZeneca’s state-of-the-art BioHub in Waltham, MA.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Ph.D. in Immunology or related field with 3-5 years of post-doctoral experience.
- Hands-on expertise in molecular techniques, primary cell culture, and FACS analysis.
- Proven ability to work independently and within a team.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent data recording and protocol management.
Desirable Skills:
- Industry experience in pharma/biotech preferred but not required.
- Knowledge of drug discovery processes in immunology or fibrotic diseases.
